Today's opening is likely to be on a negative note mirroring losses across the globe. Auto and cement companies' shares will remain in focus as auto sales and cement dispatches numbers will be out today. Also, Export & Import data for September 2011 will be released.

Earnings will also remain in focus. Other companies scheduled to report quarterly earnings today include ACC, Aditya Birla Nuvo, Ambuja Cements and Central Bank of India.

GLOBAL INDICES

The European share prices ended the last session of the month well in the red on Monday (October 31, 2011), as revived concerns over Italy's indebtedness and US broker MF Global's bankruptcy filing prompted investors to take some profits on the month's gains

The US stocks closed its best month in 20 years on a lower note on Monday as the failure of trading firm MF Global Holdings Ltd and new worries about Europe's debt crisis hammered financial shares.

The Asian shares were mostly lower on Tuesday (November 01, 2011) after Wall Street stocks tumbled on the failure of trading firm MF Global and fresh worries about Europe after the Greek Prime Minister called an unexpected referendum on aid to his country.

Commodity cues
Crude Oil prices slipped in low-volume trading on Monday, but posted big monthly gains, as the dollar rose against the yen after Japan intervened in the market to stem the rise of its currency.
