Positive global cues may lift markets at start
The Indian markets are set to begin trade on a positive note on global support. SGX Nifty is trading 6.50 points higher.

The Indian markets may open on a positive note and trade in the green zone tracking positive global cues. SGX Nifty is trading 6.50 points higher.

On Friday (February 01, 2013), the Sensex closed at 19781.19, down by 113.79 points and the Nifty fell by 35.85 points to settle at 5998.90.

Daily trend of FII/MF investment in equities
The FIIs have been the net buyers Indian stocks to the tune of Rs1,042.20 crore on January 31, 2013. The domestic investors sold Indian shares worth a net of Rs395.80 crore on January 30, 2013.The data is as per the SEBI website.

GLOBAL INDICES

Asian stock markets are trading higher on Monday (February 04, 2013), buoyed by US data which maintained expectations for a mild recovery and continued loose Federal Reserve monetary policy to support it, bolstered by solid manufacturing data from Europe and China.

European stock markets ended positive on Friday (February 01, 2013), after US jobs data pointed to a strong recovery toward the end of 2012, while Spanish stocks slumped after a short-selling ban was lifted.

US market on Friday started a new month with strong gains after the January nonfarm payrolls report bolstered thinking that the lackluster recovery remained on track.
