 Market Commentary
Market finds Budget unflattering
As Union Budget 2009-10 fails to meet market expectations, Sensex ends 5.83% or 870 points down after crashing to a low of 13959 in intra-day.
The stock market opened on a positive note and the Sensex touched the day's high of 15098 on substantial buying. However as 1100 hours, the time of Budget

The market seemed to be disappointed on concerns of fiscal deficit, increase in minimum alternate tax (MAT) and lack of dis-investment roadmap. After slipping below 14400 levels in noon trades, the Sensex plunged deep into the red towards the close on unabated selling in banking, realty and capital goods stocks, touching the day's low of 13959. The Sensex signed off the session 5.83% or 870 points down at 14043 while Nifty moved 259 points down to 4166.
